The permanent signing of a player on loan from Newcastle Thunder has been announced by Workington Town today.
Workington Town boss Chris Thorman has extended the contract of Rhys Clarke who was previously on a one month trial at Derwent Park from Newcastle Thunder.
As Town announced the contract extension, Thorman said: “What Rhys has done since he arrived has been excellent, I said I’m always in the market for good players and he’s a good player.”
Clarke will lend his experience to the squad until the end of the 2021 season.
“He’s well schooled, he’s experienced, the squad we’ve got is very inexperienced, it’s very young.
Thorman said: “The permanent signing of Rhys makes my job a lot easier as a coach. He’s already had a bit of an influence on the group.”
