Lead changes four times

Excellent defending by both these U16 sides kept scoring opportunities to a minimum.
Broughton/Glasson 26
Salterbeck 18
Salterbeck built an early 10-0 lead in this U16 match but the combined Red Rose/Glasson side equalised before the break with tries by Jonathan Ritson and Carlton Whitfield, the latter converted by Harry Kaufman.
Salterbeck again took the lead in the second half with a Ross Thompson try but then Kaufman made a 60-yard break before passing to Ritson who scored.
For the next 20 minutes the defences were on top but Salterbeck eventually managed a try to lead for the third time.
But Red Rose/Glasson were determined not to lose and they equalised again through Kaufman and then took the lead with a touch-down by Whitfield.
And they secured the win in the final minute when Kaufman crossed again.
Seaton 12
Kells 0
Seaton finally broke the deadlock mid-way through the first half when brilliant passing involving almost all the team saw Jonathan Richardson score in the corner.
Seaton then took an 8-0 lead with a move started in the own half. Callum Phillips put full-back Shane Ackerley through a gap and he raced 20 metres before drawing his opposite number and off-loading to Daniel Watson who scored.
The second half was as tight as the first and the only score came when the improving John Todd made an outstanding break for Seaton. From the play-of-the-ball the ball was moved wide and Shane Armstrong burst over to score.
Wath Brow 22
Seaton 8
Seaton began well in this U14 game, Danny Hargreaves scoring to take the lead.
Wath Brow came back with a converted try but then Seaton’s Brad Hughes regained their advantage with a try.
However, Wath Brow got another try just before the break and then in the second half, despite some good defending by Seaton, managed to score two more tries.
