COCKERMOUTH are the John Smith’s Cumberland League division two champions.
They secured the title with a storming 54-10 win which moved them ahead of Wigton.
League officials were on hand to present the trophy to Cockermouth after their win over Maryport A in which John Patrick scored a hat trick.
Mark Haycock and Paul Graffin enjoyed themselves with two tries each and other touchdowns went to Gareth Skillen, Philip Bell and Jordan Skillen, and Craig Fisher added seven goals.
Maryport replied with two tries for Keiron McCrikerd, one of which Simon Pattinson improved.
And Cockermouth take on Wigton in the Dale Campbell-Savours Cup tomorrow.
Lowca, meanwhile, beat Salterbeck Storm 22-20, a goal by Keith Campbell providing the winning margin. Campbell kicked three conversions, compared to two goals by the Storm's Lee Jardine.
David Colley (2), Dean Morgan and Andrew Harper claimed the home side's tries, while Salterbeck's response involved two tries by Dale McAllister and touchdowns from Robert Scott and Shaun Lancaster.
