Elbra win

ELLENBOROUGH are still on course to win the John Smith’s Cumberland division one title after hammering neighbours Maryport 56-12 on Wednesday night.

Ellenborough have five games left - including a home match against top-of-the-table Kells - and need to win them all to go ahead of the Whitehaven side.

On Wednesday Stephen Stoddart kicked eight goals for Ellenborough while he and another seven players went over for tries.

The other try-scorers were David Sewell, Shane Ackerley, Eddie Robinson, Stephen Brough, Jamie Watson, Barry Murdock (2) and David Whitworth (2).

Jonathan Dawes and Alan Telford touched down for Maryport and Miguel Blanco-Charters kicked two goals.
