Broughton Red Rose’s Dale Semple, Egremont’s Steve Long and William Blackburn, Craig Chambers of Kells, and Wath Brow’s Neil McCartney feature in an initial 22-man squad, following a hard-fought warm-up against Leigh East.

The squad will eventually be trimmed to just 15 players.

Sean High, of Kells, will take charge and he said: “I am absolutely delighted to be given the chance to manage the side on this fantastic trip.

“Leigh East was a good test for a lot of players and the competition has become more and more fierce.

“Some great players haven’t made the training squad but I would like to thank all who took part.”

The squad’s first training session will be held at Shaw Cross on September 25 at 11am. A qualified physio is still being sought.
