Evergreen Derek Asamoah says he wants to stay at Carlisle United and help the Blues achieve a successful season.
The striker says he is hoping to agree an extension to his short-term contract, which runs out soon.
Asamoah, 34, remains an influential player in Keith Curle’s squad and impressed in the FA Cup win at Plymouth.
Manager Curle is likely to address the future of five players on short-term deals by the end of this month.
And Asamoah said: “I’m always happy to stay. I’m playing well, I’ve had a good start to the season and I just want to kick on.
“It would be great to get it [the contract] sorted out, to stay on and help the team achieve what we set out to this season.”
Asamoah also paid tribute to United’s travelling fans and said the win at Home Park will fill the team with belief ahead of this weekend’s league trip to Bristol Rovers.
“It’s great to go to the leaders and make them look ordinary,” he said. “ We have to have the confidence to do it against any team in this league.”
