Workington Comets will be without Danish star Rasmus Jensen for their crunch Premier League clashes against Scunthorpe tonight and Newcastle tomorrow.

Jensen has been called up by his national federation to represent Denmark in the semi-final of the European Pairs Championship in Italy tomorrow afternoon.

Comets are unable to use guests or rider replacement so west Cumbrian National League rider Ryan Blacklock will replace him tonight, with tomorrow's replacement yet to be confirmed.

Jensen will return in time for Tuesday’s visit to the table-topping Peterborough Panthers.

Comets' home meeting against Scunthorpe tonight has been changed to a 6pm start to allow fans to watch the England football team's Euro 2016 opener.

The Scorpions arrive in west Cumbria with Lewis Kerr set to make his debut and Jackson is under no illusions the signing makes their side stronger.

He said: "They've got some riders who go better around our track than they do around their own in Josh Auty, Kerr and Ryan Douglas.

"This is probably the strongest team they've fielded all season and we take nobody for granted in this league."
