This comes after several weeks of speculation as to who would fill the gap in the Comets side following Ty Proctor’s late decision to delay his return to the UK.
Plymouth asset Jensen, who first joined the Plymouth Devils mid-way through 2013, ended last season with Somerset after being drafted into their side for their Premier League title run-in and what turned out to be a successful Knockout Cup final.
Despite him having initially intended to sit out the 2016 British campaign, and concentrate on commitments in his native Denmark as well as mainland Europe, the Comets management opened negations with Jensen and they have now been able to secure his services.
He will come into the Comets side in a second-string position, starting on a 5.92 average, which is a figure that the Comets management certainly feel he is more than capable of improving upon.
Club owner, Laura Morgan, said: “Everyone we have spoken to rates Rasmus very highly.
“He is also a good friend of Kenneth Hansen, who really thinks that the move to Workington will suit him perfectly.
“And by having Kenneth and fellow Dane, Claus Vissing, in our side it will surely help him to settle into his new surroundings.
“It is a big relief to finally fill the blank space in our team, and I will admit it has not been easy.”
