Workington Comets' in-form rider Kenneth Hansen has been ruled out of tonight's trip to Redcar Bears.

The Dane picked up a back injury following a crash while riding for Slangerup in the Danish League last night.

He is definitely out of Comets' trip to Redcar tonight but he hopes that some physio will help him ride on Saturday against Glasgow.

Tony Jackson, team manager, said:"We are really gutted for Kenneth as he is just getting back to his best form but hopefully it is nothing too serious.

"I was able to get hold of Morten Risager at 11pm last night and he has agreed to help us out at very short notice, which we are really grateful for.

"With Rusty, Rene and Kenneth missing tonight, plus Matt Williamson returning from his big crash at Berwick we are very much patched up. But, Redcar are in a similar position as they also have two guests plus rider replacement - it's that time of the season where everyone has a fair amount of injuries and it feels as if it is almost a case of the survival of the fittest."
