Workington Comets' first competitive fixture of the year has been postponed due to a waterlogged track.

Comets were due to race at Redcar in the League Cup tonight, with new signing Rasmus Jensen in line to make his debut.

However, the fixture was postponed this afternoon after rain showers left the track at the Media Prima Arena waterlogged.

A new date for the fixture has not yet been announced.

Comets are still scheduled to welcome the Bears to the Zebra Claims Stadium on Saturday night (7pm start) in what will now be the first leg of their League Cup ties.

The club have already had a stop-start pre-season, with challenge matches against Newcastle and Berwick disrupted by weather.

The Diamonds' scheduled visit on March 26 was postponed due to adverse weather conditions and last Sunday's home fixture against Berwick was abandoned after 10 heats due to persistent rain and worsening visibility.
