Workington Comets ace Claus Vissing believes the best is yet to come from himself and the team after achieving a big win over Sheffield last Saturday.

The Dane notched 26 points over Comets' two fixtures last weekend and finally feels like he is back in the groove after time off the bike injured last season.

"I'm happy with my personal improvement in recent weeks, definitely," he said.

"I've changed a few things and it's just starting to show in the points.

"I know I'm doing the right things, that's the main thing.

"It's been a bit of an up and down season already but I had a lot of things to get sorted which are finally coming into hand.

"It's not been bad by any means, it just hasn't been superb."

Comets' Jekyll and Hyde weekend saw them go down heavily at Plymouth before stunning in-form Sheffield and Vissing hopes to see much more of the latter as the season goes on.

He said: "I was delighted with Saturday, it was a really good team performance after I thought it was going to be a close meeting.

"It was great to see everyone bouncing because that's the way we want it to be.

"I was really happy with my weekend but it was a big defeat at Plymouth and everybody in the team was disappointed.

"We were beaten by a better team on the night and it's a big home advantage for them to have the track like that.

"We were struggling a bit with all of our starts and when you do that on a track like Plymouth you're up against it."

Despite the disastrous away performance, Vissing believes he has seen signs of an improving team capable of getting results on the road.

"As a team we're really starting to gel and we're going to prove over the next few matches what a good team we are," he said.

"We've been on the road for a few meetings now together so I expect that we should show wherever we go that we're a good team.

"We have some good laughs together which builds a strong team spirit and we're getting to know each other.

"For example I know what Adam Roynon's doing and he knows what I'm doing so we know exactly where each other will go which should give us some points in the future."

Vissing missed last night's fixture at Sheffield because he is due to compete in the Danish Championship Final at Holsted tonight along with his Comets teammate Rasmus Jensen.

But the Workington No5 said he would keep a keen eye on the match as he believes every point could count in the fiercely competitive Premier League.

"It's hard to say how far we can go because the season's still young but as long as we make the play-offs anything can happen," he added.

"There's no stand out team this year, it's a much more spread out league which can only be a good thing."
