Workington Comets must win at Redcar tonight (7.30pm start) if they are to progress in the League Cup, believes manager Tony Jackson.

Comets are due to race their final cup group fixture tonight, after which progression will be out of their hands with Newcastle and Redcar still yet to face each other home or away.

"It's all up for grabs but it could boil down to points and who does best against Redcar, who are struggling a bit," Jackson said.

"We're going there with all seven riders which is a boost because it didn't look like that would be the case."

Jackson is wary of the potential banana skin the fixture could pose, with the Bears shocking Plymouth with a final heat winner last week and said his side must give 100 per cent.

He added: "We must win to give ourselves a chance and get as many points as we can.

"All we can do is scrap for every single point so we are going there in a positive frame of mind."
