Workington Comets racer Matt Williamson believes his side have nothing to lose when they face four crunch meetings in as many days this weekend.

The brutal schedule, which includes trips to title hopefuls Glasgow and Edinburgh, will decide whether Comets can make a late, unlikely push for the top four.

But Williamson is just taking it one meeting at a time and focused on keeping up his form.

"They're among the top teams in the league at the moment so going away to them isn't easy but every team has a chance," he said.

"We'll go there with nothing to lose.

"I just want to keep up this form and if I have a bad race, just put it behind me.

"I'm over the moon with my performances this season.

"I've been consistently solid and there's not really been a dip in form, just adjusting to the main body of the team and I've stayed there.

"Getting more fixtures under my belt has helped."

Williamson was a key part of Saturday night's demolition of Peterborough, hitting the ground running with wins in his first two races and going on to score paid nine.

He said: "It was nice to get back to winning ways with a convincing win.

"It was one of my best performances in the main body of the team; paid nine from four rides was brilliant.

"I've been happy with how my scores have gone this year.

"I got two race wins on the trot which was fantastic, especially the first ahead of Ulrich Ostergaard."
