Thomas Jorgensen hopes he is over the worst of his bike problems as he looks to show Workington Comets fans what he can do in the rest of the season.

Comets travel to Sheffield tonight (7.30pm start) hoping to upset the in-form Tigers and Jorgensen believes Owlerton’s big, fast circuit will suit their riders down to the ground.

“It’s one of those big tracks which I like,” he said. “I think it suits me and I tend to do well around there.

“It’s one of the fastest tracks in the country, so I really enjoy riding it and I know most of the team do so we should be fine.

“We did really well at Newcastle on Monday because I don’t think anybody expected us to go and win there.

“We just need to get a good start.”

The Danish racer, who was coveted by the club for a while before he eventually signed for them during the winter break, has shown glimpses of his brilliant talent this season but has also struggled with mechanical issues at times.

Jorgensen believes he has now solved those problems with the help of more regular meetings since signing for Premiership club King’s Lynn and can look forward to impressing supporters and helping the team back into the play-off places.

“I have had issues with my bike which I’m getting over now,” he said.

“I feel good and it definitely has helped being part of the King’s Lynn team because we’ve had quite a few rain-offs with Workington.

“Some people moan about having two or three meetings on the trot but I think it’s good.

“If you have got too many days to rest you think about things too much and I’m definitely a big thinker so more meetings helps.

“I had three good rides at Newcastle and then the last race was a bit off but it was a tough heat 13.”

Jorgensen will also line-up with Ty Proctor for Comets in tomorrow night’s SGB Championship Pairs, with captain Craig Cook busy at the British Grand Prix practice session, and is confident they can acquit themselves well.
