Kyle Howarth has signed for Sheffield.

Workington asset Howarth, who rode for the club last season, joins former Comets riders Simon Stead and Nathan Greaves at the Tigers.

He said: “Sheffield has a lot of dirt on it and that suits me down to the ground,” he said.

“Whenever you change clubs you really want to get started as soon as possible and I’m so excited about joining Sheffield.

“I could say I would like to push Steady and Garrity for the No1 race jacket but that won't be an easy task, those boys were on it last season.

“I want to be more consistent next season and I know I'm capable of doing that. I've had a big change up in teams for next season.”

Tigers co-promoter Damien Bates said: “Kyle is a rider I have admired for some time now and it’s nice to get the opportunity to work with him at Sheffield.

“We wanted to bring someone in who can help us away from home and in Kyle we have someone who can push towards the top of the scorecharts, home and away."
