Cleator cricketer Graham Clark has penned a new deal with Durham.

The 24-year-old has signed a contract extension to keep him at Emirates Riverside until the end of the 2019 season.

Clark has had a superb season, recording a career-best 109 back in June to help Durham in their County Championship encounter with Glamorgan.

And from there he went on to bag another nine half centuries during the season.

He also finished as the club’s third highest first-class run scorer in the Championship, averaging 36.61.

Clark began his cricketing career with Cleator, alongside father Ian and his two brothers Darren and Jordan, the latter who stars for Lancashire.

Michael Richardson was the second player to extend his stay at Durham and head coach Jon Lewis said he was delighted.

He said: “I’m very happy both players have signed fresh terms as they will each have a big role to play as we look to compete for the promotion spots next season.

“Both have a good range of skills that can be utilised in red ball and white ball and in 2018 they have a chance to show what they can do as key members of the first team.”
