Netherhall edge closer

NETHERHALL are just two wins away from retain their Tesco Cumberland League premiership title.
They edged closer with a 2-1 victory over Silloth while main rivals Aspatria were losing at Cockermouth.
Keith Anderson and Mark Smith scored Netherhall’s goals while Cockermouth’s Keith Skillen hit four in their 4-3 victory of Aspatria.
Netherhall are also chasing a cup treble and reached the ISS Waterers Peter Dawson Benevolent Cup final with a 2-1 win over Wigton Harriers, Adam Tinnion and Mark Smith netting for Netherhall.
In the final they’ll meet Frizington Whitestar who beat Silloth 3-2.
These results have forced a reshuffle in the cup final dates. The Benevolent final is now May 7, Crest Team Wear Conway final May 5 along with the Divisional Cup final, and the CFM Whitehaven final will be on May 10.
