Windscale, in their last home game of the season, enjoyed a good win after the disappointment of losing in the cup semi finals.
Windscale 4
Preston 2
They went into this game knowing three points would shoot them up the table and make sure they beat last season’s points total.
The game started at a good pace with Windscale having most of the play and it wasn't long before they took the lead, Jess McGlynn finishing from close range.
This triggered a crazy 15 minutes as Preston hit straight back with a equaliser only for Windscale to take the lead again through Sharon Cameron.
Preston were level soon after and that’s how it stayed until the break.
In the second half Windscale took control and with a slight change in formation they were able to pen Preston in for long periods.
The decisive third goal came from Cameron as she shot from outside the box leaving the keeper with no chance and the game was put beyond doubt when Josie Grant stole in front of defender and the keeper to flick in a header.
