Northside are this season’s Workington & District Sunday League premiership champions after beating nearest rivals Red Lion 1-0 to lift the trophy.
Last season they missed out on top spot on the final day but went one better this year thanks to a strike from Stefan Scott who the previous day scored a hat-trick for FC 32 in the Tesco Cumberland premiership.
Ironically, Northside had to beat Red Lion by four or more goals to be crowned champions last term but missed out by one goal, handing William Hill the title.
In division one, Deer Orchard did their chances of survival no harm with a five-star showing against mid-table Miners Arms.
Orchard, who had nine points deducted earlier this year, were just one point above winless Crosby going into the game but goals from Dean Wainwright, Jackson Relph, Kane Tinnion and Daniel Burns secured the win.
Craig Lewthwaite, Andrew Marshalsea and Stephen Penn scored for Miners.
Dearham kept their championship hopes alive with a comfortable 3-0 win over bottom side Crosby.
Gavin Manchester’s double puts him in contention for the league’s golden boot with his tally for the season now at 13, just three behind Maryport’s Darren Mckenzie. Stephen Bower added the third.
Real Red House top scorer Michael O’Leary got his 12th goal of the season in a thumping 4-2 win over Maryport Bounty.
Dean Scholey, Barry Blair and Brendan Wilkinson were also on hand to fire RRH to the brink of the title.
Robert Hall and Lee Smith scored for Maryport Bounty.
The win kept Real a point behind leaders Golden Lion, who brushed aside Workington Bounty 3-1.
Peter Graham, Lee Irving and Jonny Dawes scored with Mike Tuke netting in return.
Golden Lion keep top spot but Real have two games in hand going into the final weeks of the season.
In the third round of the League Cup division one side Maryport FC caused an upset by beating premiership strugglers Senhouse Street 3-0 on penalties.
The match finished 2-2 with goals from Andrew Blackburn and Scott Weston for Senhouse and Lee Birkes and Jordan Branthwaite on target for Maryport.
Fixtures Premier: Borough v Senhouse Street.
Divisional Cup semi-final: Real Red House v Golden Lion, Deer Orchard v Hall Park Hotel.
President’s Cup third round: Northside v Workington Bounty.
