Haven winger Craig Calvert is hoping to propel Haven back up the league ladder before making a decision on his own future.

Calvert, who had his testimonial at the club last season, is still undecided whether he will hang up his boots at the end of the term.

But if he does, he wants to leave Haven in the Championship and will do all he can to help them remain there.

Haven begin their Super Eights program at home to Bradford Bulls on Sunday.

And lying on the bottom of the table, the team knows it has to perform to get out of the mire.

"These games are critical now," admitted Calvert. "Everyone is still positive at the club and we all know that we have to knuckle down if we want to stay up.

"I still haven't decided if I will retire at the end of the season or not. I am not 100 per cent sure either way.

"I might call it a day, it will depend on injuries but if I do I would certainly like to go out on a high, keeping the club up."

Calvert may miss out against the Bulls with a groin injury sustained in the last Championship clash.

"I don't think I will be right to play this weekend but I will wait and see at the end of the week," he added.

"It would be frustrating to have to sit and watch but I am getting older and I am picking up more injuries."

The Bulls have had their fair share of troubles this week, with managing director Steve Ferres leaving the club and rumours surfacing about their financial situation.

But Calvert says the team that heads to the Recreation Ground will have a point to prove after missing out on the Middle Eights by one place.

"I think they will still come here with a positive attitude and we have to match that," said Calvert.

"They will want to win as they will still be disappointed that they didn't make the top four to go up against the Super League clubs."
