Whitehaven coach Carl Forster will be considering his derby game plan at training tomorrow.

Forster “changed things around” for the game against York City Knights at the weekend.

“It was something we tried out against York and we will be discussing how it went after watching the video.

“We might stick with it o change things back again for the game with Town,” he said.

Whitehaven finished very strongly in the closing quarter of the game and they came through to win well.

“I’ve always thought we were a fit squad and I think that particularly showed on Sunday.

“We worked very hard on fitness in pre-season and I think it has paid dividends as the season has gone on.

“Travelling and playing in Canada against the top team was very draining so for the players to finish the stronger team a week later, against a good side like York was very satisfying,” said Forster.

One of the casualties of that game against the Toronto Wolfpack was Conor Holliday and he has been nursing fore ribs since his return home.

He missed the win over York but is hoping to be fit for the derby renewal with Town.

Forster has been full of praise for Holliday’s performances hi year when switched to the second-row.

The former Kells amateur has matured into a formidable performer in the pack.

Both Holliday and teenager Lewis Brown have been tipped for big futures by the Haven coach.

Brown, the former Seaton amateur and Salford Academy player was warmly praised by the coach for his contributions against the Wolfpack and the City Knights.
