Haven were rocked by a third heavy pre-season friendly defeat at the hands of Newcastle Thunder.
The north east side, who will play all three Cumbrian sides in League 1 this coming season, proved dominant to open up a 28-6 lead at half time.
Thunder were the first to score with an unconverted try but Haven came back with a touchdown for player/coach Carl Forster which was converted to give them the lead.
But they were to lose it soon after and they never regained it as Thunder hit them with a blitz of tries.
Into the second half and Haven came out with more purpose and asked questions of their hosts.
And they were rewarded with an unconverted try for Steven Roper, followed by a converted effort from Kurt Maudling that saw them cut the deficit to 28-16.
But when Thunder got back in their stride there was no stopping them and they continued where they had left off in the first half to notch up a 46-16 win.
