This U10 division three game opened with a very tight first half in which the visitors edged ahead, going in at the interval 1-0 to the good.
But Workington were totally different in the second half, soon equalising through Ben Powell.
Though Whitehaven managed to score next, Workington went on to stamp their authority on the match.
Powell equalised again and then Kieran Worthington put the home side into the lead and, with 10 minutes to go, Liam Williamson curled in a corner which went direct into the goal to secure the points.
Workington keeper Adam Cowan made some good saves and Reece Weaver was strong in mid-field.
Workington Utd proved size didn't matter as they ran out comfortable winners in this U12 division two match against Calder.
Calder scored from a corner kick in the opening minutes but Workington were straight back at them with a hat-trick from Matthew Fowler followed by a cracking goal from Callum Speakes.
Workington's keeper Liam Irving made an incredible save to deny Calder on goal but they managed to pull one back from the rebound just before half time.
Workington continued where they left off in the first half with Fowler finding the back of the net once again closely followed by a great goal from Lewis Hull.
Calder tried to get back into the game but Workington's defence of Jack Rumney, Matthew McGarry, James Wallace and Man of the Match Kyle Hutchcroft proved too strong.
Netherhall secured their place in the next round of the U16 County Cup with a 5-2 win over St Bees.
An exciting match from start to finish, Netherhall’s captain Sam Beattie led by example scoring an outstanding goal after just 15 seconds.
St Bees replied 15 minutes later with another fantastic goal however, just before half time, Adrian Gartland put Netherhall back in front.
Shaun Lomas slotted one in just after half-time to increase the lead but St Bees quickly replied less than a minute later.
With the game tight, Netherhall stepped up a gear and goals by Darren Pape and Callum Hansen secured the win.

Cockermouth played the first half of their return U10 division one match against Bigrigg Bulls as if they were out to avenge their earlier home defeat. However, the Bulls got into their stride in the second half to achieve the double.
Cockermouth were often very dominant in the first half. Their back line, especially Kate Spiers, were stalwart in their defence. Both teams forced corners and several saves from keepers Patrick Cowman (Bigrigg) and Cockermouth’s man-of-the-match Ross Walker.
