FUTSAL: The sixth form girls who took part in the tournament

Following a recent futsal coaching course, girls from the sixth form organised the event.

The girls were put through their paces to get used to the difference between futsal and traditional five-a-side football before taking part in a competition in the afternoon.

Twenty girls took part throughout the day enjoying the challenge of the new game whilst competing in a fun environment.

The girl’s appetites have been whetted following football opportunities at the County Umbro FIVES competition last year and are looking forward to this year’s competition at Whitehaven.

n Futsal differs from five-a-side in that there are no boards to rebound the ball off, the ball is smaller and can be kicked above head height. Also, the goals are narrower and higher.
