Whitehaven Miners Social U16s are third in the West Cumbria Youth League table after am 11-3 victory over Seaton U15s.

The game was only minutes old when Seaton's keeper Thomas Dover made a great save to push the ball over the bar.

Miners were awarded a corner shortly after and, in a crowded area, PJ Martin put the ball in for the opening goal.

Considering the pitch condition both sides made some good end to end moves and it was Seaton's Owen Reed who equalised.

A Miners ball crossed from the left wing found Elliott Lewthwaite who rounded the outcoming Seaton keeper who appeared to slip, to put Miners back in front.

And then two more from Miners' Jack Dunne and another by Elliott Lewthwaite plus one from Seaton's Matthew Johnson made the half time score 4-3.

The second 45 minutes saw Miners get on top of their younger opponents, this was made easier by a Seaton player being awarded a red card.

Miners were awarded a penalty that Will Field put away, followed by another goal from Elliott Lewthwaite, two from Jack Dunne, two from Adam Williamson, and one for Daniel McGarry, for a 11-3 finish.
