Sun Inn, Northside and Maryport Labour Club will all feature in the Workington Sunday League Cup semi-finals after an action packed weekend of football.

Former Workington Reds star Kingsley Grandison featured on the scoresheet for Sun Inn as they got past the challenge of Yankees 4-1.

Richard Hudson, Paul Cuthel and Matthew Prior also found the back of the net for Sun Inn while Dan Little got Yankees' consolation.

Grasslot Welfare put up a real fight against Northside at home before going under 4-3.

It was a brace of goals from Jamie Glover that helped Northside take the tie with further strikes from Kyle Galea and Liam McCullough.

Grasslot replied with goals from Gavin Graham, Brad Steele and Zach Little.

Matthew Saulter, Ellis Gardhouse and David Miller all scored as Maryport Labour Club moved safely through with a 3-1 win over Commercial, whose lone goal came from Matthew Lister.

There was also plenty of league action in both divisions of the Workington league.

In the premier league there were wins for Blue Bell and Deer Orchard.

Scott Pears was on hand with a brace for Blue Bell as they defeated Senhouse Street 4-2, with Ryan Connelly and Greg Quayle also netting.

Senhouse competed well with Terry Warrior and Nathan Brash also scoring.

Deer Orchard had it more their own way with a 5-0 win over Millfield Miners. Goals came from Lewis Horsley, Luke Graham, Kyran Bertram and a brace for Dan Graham.

JJ's failed to rise a team for their division one clash with Seaton Rangers and they have had their match cancelled this weekend to give them time to regroup.

There were goals aplenty for Broughton as they recorded an 11-1 win over Commercial with Scott Howard bagging four of them.

There were braces for Sean Stack, Lee Wood and Matty Wilson, with a further goal for Liam Bates. Commercial managed one in reply from Stephen Taylor.

It was another high scoring affair as Workington Grapes took on Sun Inn Athletic.

Grapes ran out 8-3 winners courtesy of braces for Mark Robertson and Adam Cowan, plus one apiece for Darren Heron, Liam Currier, Marc Wilson and Steve Hopper.

Lewis Penn picked up two goals for Athletic, with Karl Johnston also hitting the back of the net.

It was a closer game between Thomas Henry and Borough Miners, with the latter just edging it 5-3.

Dale Hopper picked up a hat-trick for Miners with Jack Edmundson scoring the other two.

Andrew Brown bagged two for Thomas Henry, with William Fox rounding up the scoring.
