Last year's Workington Sunday League champions Northside were held to a draw in this season's opening fixture.

Hosting Pack Horse, formerly Yankees, Northside picked up three goals but also conceded three in a closely contested encounter.

Two goals from Tommy Whitehead and one from Calum Best ensured Pack Horse took a share of the spoils.

Stefan Scott, John Price and Liam McCullough all found the back of the net for Northside.

With only one other game going ahead in the top flight, it was down to the Sun Inn to head up the premier league.

They travelled to take on Senhouse Street Club and came away with a 5-0 victory.

Andrew Trestianu led the way for the Aspatria outfit with a hat-trick to his name while Joe Stewart and Will Hodgson also chipped in with a goal apiece.

Turning to division one and there were several close games with the teams unable to be separated after 90 minutes.

Newcomers Maryport United took on Redhouse with the clash ending in deadlock at 2-2.

Max Litt and Adam Kirkbride were the Maryport scorers with Gary O'Driscoll and Nick Wood replying for Redhouse.

Seaton Royal Oak and Salterbeck saw the same scoreline, with Leo Holliday and Andrew Bromley netting for the Seaton side and Logan Potter and Scott Birney getting Salterbeck, who were Commercial last term, off the mark.

The final draw was between Gaslight, formerly Seaton Rangers and Dearham with a 1-1 scoreline thanks to goals from Gregg Kerr and James Langstaff.

New boys Maryport United got off to a great start against another team fresh to the league this year in Highfield.

Ethan Weir, Mark Brown and Callum Foy all slotted goals home to ensure United collected a 3-0 victory.

Sun Inn Athletic also recorded a win as they took on Silloth Albion. Dominic Harrison, Stephen Wilson and Ricky Holt all struck for Athletic with Albion getting one in reply through Paul Glencross.
