Netherhall are the new Smurfit Kappa Conway Cup holders after edging a tight final 1-0 against Cockermouth at Windscale on Saturday.

It was an edgy start from both sides with defences on top and it remained 0-0 at half time.

In the 67th minute Cockermouth thought they broken the deadlock after the Netherhall keeper spilled the ball, with the rebound hitting both posts before being cleared.

And the final looked to be petering into extra time only for Netherhall’s evergreen striker Keith Anderson to pop up and head the 89th minute winner, giving Cockermouth no time to reply.
