Netherhall confirmed their place at the top of the Smurfit Kappa Premier League, after knocking Windscale for six without reply. 

Clinical Netherhall scored with a 25-yarder that found the top corner from Ben Byers.

Then the visitor’s keeper, misjudged a bouncing ball and it went over him and into the net from a Keith Anderson shot.

Three more goals came quickly. Byers got a second and then Gary Pearson and Andrew Lowes shots gave Netherhall control and a 5-0 half-time lead. 

After the break and a host of substitutions, the home side added the sixth through Jamie Bethwaite to make the final score 6-0. 

Wigton Harriers entertained Cockermouth and leapfrogged them with a hard fought 1-0 victory thanks to a Brad Hayton goal. 

Aspatria progressed into the third round of the GMB Union Whitehaven Cup with a 4-0 over visitors Whitehaven Miners.

Goals from Gary Messenger, Malcolm Graham and Ben Jefferson gave the home side a 3-0 half-time lead. 

The second half was a more even game until Sean Law killed the game off with Aspatria’s fourth to make the final score 4-0. 

The final first round game of the Hunday Manor Divisional Cup saw Silloth entertain Cleator Moor Celtic. 

Celtic started the fresher and got an early lead only for the seasiders to respond with two quick fire goals from the ever improving Kris Nichol and veteran Andy Hinde with his first of the season.

Celtic drew level to make it 2-2 only for Kris Nichol to complete his hat-trick and give Silloth the half time lead at 4-2. 

The second half was played out with great intent but only produced one goal and that came from Silloth’s Dean Barton to make the final score 5-2.
