A box-office seven-goal title decider finished with Northside as the Workington Sunday League premier division champions.

Northside finished just two points clear of Blue Bell after a 4-3 win over their rivals on Sunday.

It had all come down to the final game of the season with winner takes all and that is what happened.

Goals from Greg Quayle, Ryan Connelly and Kevin Holiday were just not enough for the visitors, who sat at the top of the table going into the final game.

Instead it was Northside that were celebrating after braces from both Steff Scott and John Price saw them home to win 4-3.

It is just as close in the league’s first division, with that title also going to a final decider.

Yankees ensured it would go to the wire when they won on Tuesday night, 7-2 at Grapes.

They now go to leaders Broughton on Sunday just one point behind them, making sure it will be another cracking game.

Going back to Tuesday and Calvin Feeney led the way for Yankees with a hat-tick of goals, alongside one apiece for Daniel Little, Matthew Reid, Tommy Whitehead and Dominic McGee.

Grapes had Kieran Thornborrow to thank for both of their goals.
