Workington Athletic stormed to a 4-1 win on the road at Whitehaven Miners in the Smurfit Kappa Premier League.

Stuart Grey scored a brace for Workington and there was one each for Tom Pardini and Mike Kilgour. Chris Armstrong scored Whitehaven's consolation.

Premier League newcomers Cockermouth took a first-minute lead over visitors Windscale.

Lee Taylor rose highest to nod home a long throw to make it 1-0. 

In the second half, Mike Farrer and Bradley Dryden linked up well and the latter equalised with a 20-yard thunderbolt in the top corner, ensuring they shared the points.

Champions Netherhall's match at home to Longtown was postponed. 

In Division One, Silloth continue to score freely after they hit visitors Borough for six.

There was a hat-trick of braces for Adam Carr, Lewis Mulla and Reece Black to give the home side a 6-0 victory. 

Elsewhere, Bransty beat Whitehaven Miners Reserves 3-2, Whitehaven Reserves recorded a 4-0 win at home to St Bees, Whitestar and Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves drew 0-0 and Mirehouse's match against Hearts of Liddesdale was postponed.
