Mike Dickinson, Willie Irving, Andrew Hetherington and Robert Mounsey defeated their better fancied opponents skipped by Stuart Irwin of Aspatria.
The Caldbeck four were in control throughout leading 10-0, 15-2 before running out 24-17 winners. This will be the first time for 44 years that Caldbeck will be at the National Championships.
The other game was a much tighter affair when Carlisle Subscription beat Whitehaven by just a single shot 20-19.
Turning back to the Glaze Direct Limited West Cumbria Men’s Fours League.
The big game last week was at Low Green, Workington, between reigning champions Workington A and last year’s runners-up and current league leaders Keswick. In a tight game Keswick won 4-3.
