Darts promoter Ben Nicholson says this will be the biggest year to date with several of the sport's leading lights heading up to the county.

Following on from the announcement that two-time World Darts champion Adrian Lewis heading back to the oche in Seaton in March, Nicholson has planned several more events.

Stephen Bunting, nicknamed 'The Bullet' is heading to Maryport ARLFC on February 27.

Bunting won the 2014 BDO World Championships, and is a twice former World Masters champion.

Terry Jenkins will then be at Maryport Navy Club on May 29. Jenkins is one of the best known professionals on the PDC circuit, with many TV appearances on Sky Sports under his belt.

And lastly, on October 15, former PDC star and now Sky Sports commentator, Wayne Mardle and BDO star Tony O'Shea will headline a charity event at Lowca ARLFC, in aid of Cancer Research.

Workington-based Ben Nicholson said: This is the biggest year we have ever had in Cumbria. The demand for these events is phenomenal.

"I have never known shows sell so quickly.  It just seems to get better every year and we are getting bigger names.

"Bringing players of the quality of Adrian Lewis here is massive for the area. It is good for local fans and for the venues."

There are only a handful of VIP tickets left for Adrian Lewis at Seaton on March 18. And he will now be joined by one of the Sky Sports walk-on girls.

Tickets for all the events are available from the venues or from Ben on 07835 818352.
