A record turnout of more than 200 runners took part in Keswick Athletic Club's annual Round Latrigg Race.

The 5.5-mile course going up Spoonygreen Lane to Skiddaw car park, down the back of Latrigg and then a flat section along the railway line back to Fitz Park.

It was an overcast evening with patchy rain, so the grass off the back of Latrigg and the bridges along the railway line were a little greasy.

Keswick Athletic Club dominated the race, winning both the male and female prizes, with Mark Lamb (31.51) and Catherine Spurden (36.08) clinching the wins.

Mark beat off some tough competition in the form of Helm Hill’s Adam Perry and Derwent Athletic Club's Tom Durcan, who were 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Catherine was well over three minutes ahead of second-placed Lou Roberts from Ambleside, followed by Eden Runners’ Karen Bridge.

Derwent Athletic Club bagged the men’s team prize, with Paul Graham and James Slater being the second and third counter for the team.

Keswick AC achieved the ladies' prize, with Annabel Holmes and Jenn Mattinson finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
