Talented Seaton brothers Elliot and Zinedine Hodgson were celebrating at the weekend as they claimed karate medals and an England call-up.

The duo, who train under Mark Hodgson, at Workington's Hokushinko Fight Academy, competed in the GB Open Kata competition in Walsall.

And they both came away with a bronze medal in their respective categories.

That was not the only good news as Elliot has just had confirmation that he has been selected to represent England.

He will compete in the 12-14-year-old category the UWK World Championships in Montecatini in Italy in Novermber.

His proud dad Barry said: "This is quite an achievement because he only turns 12 in October.

"He will be stepping up to this age group to compete with much older and more experienced lads.

"But the selectors must have faith in him to compete at a world level in this category and be one of the youngest in it.

"Some of the lads can be in this category and only days off turning 15."
