A local endurance rider shone for England recently beating off competition from across Great Britain.

Emma Harris, 27, from Greysouthen, competed in the Endurance Great Britain Home International competition at the Lindum Spirit held at Market Rasen in Lincolnshire on her stunning Appaloosa gelding Spotty.

She was selected for the England team from the squad of 12 riders and competed in the two day 80km ride, in which she came first out of the four nations competing.

The England team came home in third place overall.

Emma was very pleased with Spotty’s performance in the competition.

She thanked the England Chef d'equipe Maggie, Vet Joe, Physio Lorna, the rest of the England squad, Biosportsfit Ltd for their advice and support and especially her parents who crewed for her.
