Cockermouth golfer Jordan Eland finished a marathon 72 holes of golf in one day to raise cash for charity.

Jordan, a member at Cockermouth Golf Club, took part in the Macmillan Cancer Support “Longest Day Challenge” and raised £500 for the charity.

He was supported and encouraged by club captain David McDonald and club members.

The club’s August Stableford round two was won by Daniel Forrester with 42 points just ahead of Peter Todhunter with 41 points.

Nick Laidlow had a great round of 71-9-62 to win the J W Bowe trophy and the runner-up was David Twelvetree with 81-16-65.

The ladies played for the Dolly Dixon trophy and the winner was Robyn Mavir with 94-24-70 and Rebecca Laidlow was the runner-up with 84-13-71.
