Workington Reds Juniors Black side are celebrating after winning the Under-14 West Cumbria Youth League title.

The youngsters have gone unbeaten throughout the season and are also in the final of the County Cup.

But they did not have a game last weekend. However, second placed Maryport Athletic did and they hung on to their runners-up position with an 11-0 scoreline against Workington Reds Whites.

Bransty Rangers are the team on their tail, just one point adrift of them, and they were in action midweek, beating Cockermouth Lightning 4-2.

Cockermouth Hurricanes also played last Wednesday, beating Workington Reds Whites 5-2.

Cleator Moor Celtic remain a point clear at the top of the U16 division.

The Moor side defeated Seaton Juniors' U15s 4-0 to stay on top of the pile despite increasing pressure from their rivals.

Maryport are the closest, just one point adrift, although the Cleator outfit have three games in hand.

But Maryport continued their successful run as they beat Seaton's U16s in a much tighter game, eventually running out 3-2 victors.

Third placed Whitehaven Amateurs slipped up on a visit to Aspatria where the home side prevailed 4-3.

This was their second game in a week as the previous Wednesday they had ground out a 2-2 draw at the home of Workington Reds.

The final game at the weekend saw Allerdale Leisure record a 6-2 win over Whitehaven Miners Social.

Again the title has already been won in the U13 division, finding its home at Whitehaven Amateurs.

But the battle remains for second with Cockermouth Panthers moving onto level pegging with Workington Wanderers Whites after a 3-1 victory over Whitehaven Miners Social.

Bransty Rangers and Seaton Juniors played out a double header with on match being a 1-1 draw and the other a 4-1 win for Bransty.

St Bees and Aspatria could not be separated with the final scoreline standing at 3-3.

Midweek action saw fourth placed Maryport record a 9-1 win over Seaton, Whitehaven Miners Social beat Aspatria 4-2 and Workington Wanderers Whites won 2-1 at Cleator Moor Celtic.

In the U12 League Cup, Workington Reds White beat Cockermouth United 7-2 while Moor Row edged out Bransty Rangers 4-3.

League champions Workington Rangers emerged as winners at St Bees 7-0 and earlier in the week they recorded a 10-0 win at Cockermouth United.

In the Under-18 league there was just one game as Whitehaven AFC beat Cockermouth 3-1 in midweek.

In the Under-14 girls league, Cockermouth Juniors got the better of Whitehaven AFC 3-1 while Allerdale Girls beat Workington Reds Diamonds 4-1.
