Workington's Derwent Park will once again play host to the latest Clash of the Titans championship tomorrow.

Clash of the Titans 19 showcases the sports of boxing and mixed martial arts.

Last summer’s headliners have gone onto big things. Victor Kenneth Bergh from Norway is on the verge of the UFC as he is now 6-0 and shining in Europe’s top show Cage Warriors while opponent, former Rugby League star Brett McDermott, is now the BAMMA world heavyweight champion.

This year’s event will be headlined by a professional MMA bout between two heavyweights, Sunderland’s Tony Mustard and Czech fighter Jan Lysak.

Mustard is unbeaten domestically with the only defeats of his career coming in the South African-based EFC promotion. He is looking to get back in the win column as he looks to earn a contract with either Bellator or the UFC.

There will be a big representation from the Hokushinko gym in Workington as both Craig Kenmare, of Whitehaven, and Lloyd Wise will be competing in MMA bouts.

Kenmare is set for a rematch with Carlisle’s Ike McNeill, while in the boxing, outstanding young talent Alfie Poole will be looking to dazzle the crowd with his silky skills.

Unbeaten cruiserweight John Ennis and stand-out middleweight Danny “war machine” Ferguson, of Dearham, will also be looking to put on big performances for the local crowd.

And in a heavyweight showcase, Whitehaven’s unbeaten Gary Wood will be looking to claim another victory as he faces Kev Barker of Nottingham.

The event will also host a Prizefighter in memory of Ellenborough rugby player Kieran “Skully” Poole, and a bucket collection will be held to raise funds for local youngster Emily Shutt in her battle against cancer.

Standard tickets for the event are still available from Peter Gilmour on 07478 654646 or can be purchased on the gate at the stadium.

Doors are open from 4pm with first bout expected to take place at around 5pm.
