WORKINGTON SAC fished a species hunt on Sunday.
Thirteen adults and six juniors caught dab, eel, flounder, plaice, pollack, mackerel, gurnard, launce, pouting, wrasse, rockling and cod.
Jimmy Smith had a 2lb 3oz plaice which any other week would have won the club snowball but this match had no club points and the snowball didn’t count.
Stephen George won with seven species. Second was Caroline Hannon with four species and Mike Laycock came third with four species.
Ben Challenger was junior winner with three species. Matthew Smith came second with two species and Lee Murphy was third.
The next match is on Sunday, fishing 9am-1pm from Red Bank. New members are very welcome. Contact Howard on 68614 or Jimmy on 871545.
The club is holding an open competition on October 5 from 9am-1pm. Heaviest fish only. Register at the Jack Club 7am-8.45am. Seniors £10, Juniors £3.
