Fourth in North league

TEAM North Cumbria is comprised of the top performing athletes from Ellenborough Athletic Club, Carlisle Aspatria A.C and Eden Runners.

They compete in the national Young Athletes League against the best young athletes from clubs all over the North of England.

Points are scored according to the finishing positions of the athletes.

Last Sunday they were at Trafford Athletic Club in Manchester, to take on Trafford, Macclesfield, Blakely and North Manchester athletic clubs.

The Ellenborough representatives gave a very good account of themselves.

Katie Johnson won the U13 150 metres and was second in the 75m.

Tania Wilson won the U13 1200m and third in the shot.

Rachel King won the U13 high jump and was third in the 75m hurdles.

Carmen Friel won the U15 100m, finished second in the 75m hurdles and second in the 800m.

Sam Cummings was second in the boys U15 800m and third in the 400m and his brother Max was second in the U13 75m hurdles and third in the 800m.

Laura Park and Hannah Bethwaite have also contributed to Team North Cumbria, but were unavailable on this occasion.

Team North Cumbria are currently fourth in the league which is lead by Macclesfield.
