Change of route for Tuesday time trial

powe 1007 THE Tuesday evening time trial started from Cockermouth School down to Embleton and left up past Higham Hall, to the top of the hill then down the fast descent to finish just before the junction with the main road, an eight-mile course giving riders a change from the A66 and one for the climbers but tough for most.

Payton takes 50-mile cycle championship

payton 1906 VELO Club Cumbria held its 50-mile time trial championship at the weekend. This was an open event and a counter in the national best all rounder competition and attracted nearly 50 cyclists from the north of England.
