Motor club launches new rally

WEST Cumbria Motorsport Club will run the Greystoke rally this weekend with a nearly full entry.
The idea of a rally was first raised last year and after a few weeks mulling it over the club’s committee decided to press ahead.
A limit of 60 cars was set, mainly to protect the forest but also because it is seven years since the club last ran such an event and never a forest rally before this one.
The Greystoke Rally will run Sunday with a field of 56 cars with all the local motor clubs represented.
WCMC with 14 crews and Kirby Lonsdale with 11 make up the bulk of the local entries.
Anyone interested in marshalling there is still time to register, phone Irving Wilson on 07519838007. All marshalls will be entered in a raffle.
