WEST Cumbria Motorsport Club’s Peter Foy came back with a bang last Saturday when he took part in round six of the Saab Scottish Rally Championship, the Speyside Stages.
The Evo had blown its engine on the last round and Foy thought that was it for the season. But the BSW-sponsored car was back fighting for the lead again and with Foy setting top-six times all day he managed to take third overall and first in class.
It was an excellent result which also puts him in second in the championship and leading his class by well over 15 points.
Monday sees the club’s annual car show at the Sheep and Wool Centre beside the A66 near Cockermouth.
This year the club has pulled out all the stops and will be showing everything from an autocross motorbike to a full-blown rally car.
With touring cars and sprint cars also, the night plans to be an excellent event.
It kicks off around 7pm and, best of all, it’s free.
