Social take early lead

AFTER the first three weeks of the new snooker season it’s the Maryport Social A team who head the table on 11 points after their unbeaten start.
But as to be expected at this early stage, there’s not much in it as the Railway Club are breathing down their necks on 10 points.
Next are Ellenboro and last year’s champions John Street, both on nine.
Derwent A and Senhouse A both on eight from three games then comes one of last year’s promoted teams, Seaton Legion, on seven.
The other team to go up, Clifton, are on five points along with Senhouse B, but both teams have had their week off.
In the second division, it’s last season’s relegated team, Workington Legion, who lead the way on 11 points, closely followed on 10 by Brigham - who have just re-entered the league - and Station Road, who just missed out on promotion last year.
Derwent come next on eight, followed by the Trades Hall on six, then Flimby on four and Glasson on three, but the bottom four teams have only sent cards in for the first two weeks, so all have a game in hand.
Teams are asked to send results in as quickly as possible.
A meeting will be held on Monday night at the Station Road Club where some important announcements are to be made and hopefully all missing match cards will be handed in as well as loads of competition results.
