Workington Reds are looking for back-to-back wins when they take on Gretna 2008 tonight.

Reds beat Carlisle City 3-1 during the week to register their second win in three pre-season matches.

Midfielder Phil McLuckie could make his long-awaited return to the team, after missing the back end of last season through injury.

McLuckie has been itching to return after recovering from a jaw injury.

The midfielder got injured in his side’s 1-1 draw with Ramsbottom United in February. McLuckie got hurt challenging for the ball and had to see a specialist.

Striker Gareth Arnison will not feature though as he will miss the next few weeks.

Joint first team manager Lee Andrews said: “I think they will be a young team and will probably try to play a little bit of football.

“We always say results are important and we play to win, but it’s about performance.”

An open day will take place at Borough Park on Sunday, July 24.

Activities, including disability football, will take place on the day with teams from West Cumbria and Carlisle.

There will also be a guest appearance from The Voice star Jolan, classic car and motorbike displays, a bouncy castle, fastest shot and stalls.

The new kit launch will take place at 2pm with a fans’ match at 3pm. Admission is free.

To register for the fans’ match contact Alan Airey on 01768 776582.

Former Reds defender Kyle Cameron has signed his first professional contract with Newcastle United.

The 19-year-old spent a month at Borough Park last season on a youth loan from the Magpies.

He scored one goal in four appearances before joining League Two side York City.

His only goal came on his debut for Reds in a league match against Marine.

The Scotland youth international is one of eight youngsters at the Championship club to get a contract extension.
