Midfielder Rob Wilson hailed Workington Reds' turnaround after back-to-back wins have them on the brink of the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-offs.

Wilson admitted he has played more than he expected to this season, but that has helped him add goals to his game which he hopes can help Reds build momentum for the run-in.

He said: "I've enjoyed it this season.

"I've been in the team more than I would have thought, almost every week, and I've added goals to my game.

"We've just got to keep winning and hope other people drop points around us.

"You do look at the table, even if people say they don't.

"It's tight this year because there are more teams up there fighting for promotion."

Reds' 2-0 win over Hednesford Town at the weekend, despite being down to 10 men, puts them level on points with fifth-placed Buxton and Wilson believes it was a performance they can build on.

"It's good to get back to winning ways because we've had a bit of a dip in form," he said.

"I think we controlled the game from the start.

"We were good at the back, organised and dealt with everything they threw at us.

"It was a great team performance with James Earl getting sent off.

"Now we've just got to keep the momentum going.

"It does boost your confidence but we know we've got enough on the day, we just haven't been as consistent as we were last season."
