Workington Reds' clash at Mickleover Sports was called off on Saturday but they remain in second position in the Evo-Stik premier.

Despite not kicking a ball due to a waterlogged pitch, the teams around Workington failed to capitalise on them being out of action.

Third placed Salford could have leapfrogged Reds if they had beaten Frickley Athletic but they could only managed a draw as Frickley equalised in the 88th minute.

This now leaves them one point behind having played the same amount of games.

However, league leaders Blyth Spartans extended the gap at the top to eight points with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Grantham Town.
