Workington Reds boss Derek Townsley admits his side's entire season now hinges on tomorrow's crunch game at Ashton United.

Reds are currently sitting just outside the Evo Stik premier division play-offs, four points adrift of Stourbridge and tomorrow's opponents Ashton.

But Townsley insists there is still all to play for if they can pull off the win at Ashton.

"The whole season hinges on this one game. It is make or break," admitted Townsley.

"We are aware they are a big, strong team but we played really well against them up here.

"They have made a couple of additions since then and they are where they are for a reason.

"It will be very tough but nothing that we can't handle. We are more than capable of getting a result there."

As well as needing a win at Ashton, an ideal scenario would also see Stourbridge slip up against Whitby, leaving all to play for in the final week of action.

But Townsley was quick to insist, Reds need to concentrate on winning first and other results second.

He added: "We can't affect the Stourbridge game but we can affect this one and that has to be our focus.

"Obviously I would be disappointed for everyone involved with the club, supporters and directors, if we missed the play-offs.

"But more for the players and they have put a lot into the season. I don't think people realise how much they put in, taking holidays and half days from work to be able to play.

"It is a big commitment for them and they are all very committed. I would be gutted for them because they do deserve some form of reward.

"If we don't get that through the play-offs then it would be a real shame.

"We are still we are going there with something still to play for which is the main thing."

Anthony Wright should be back in contention for the trip to Ashton, after missing out in midweek.

Rob Wilson had to leave the field in the 2-0 defeat at Nantwich but he should also be ready to return.

And Townsley is waiting to see if striker Gareth Arnison will be well enough to come off the bench.

The match at Hurst Cross, kicks off at 3pm.
