Workington Reds have been boosted by the return of James Earl ahead of Warrington Town's visit to Borough Park tonight (7.45pm kick-off).

Earl should be available to face Warrington and will bring experience and steel to Reds' midfield for what will be a testing encounter.

Sam Smith also has a chance of being available for tomorrow night's fixture.

The Yellows have 13 points from their first six games and had sat top of the Evo-Stik Premier Division until last night, but joint manager Lee Andrews welcomed the opportunity for his side to quickly put things right after Saturday's disappointing FA Cup defeat at Scarborough.

Joint manager Lee Andrews said: "It is good in a way that we have got a game so quickly after Saturday to put a few things right.

"We always say there are no easy games in this league but we are the home team, so we have got to set the agenda and make sure we are on our game.

"We felt that the team we put out on Saturday should have been strong enough but first half it seemed to pass one or two people by.

"We need to be a bit more aggressive going forward and players have to push their way into the box and stick their head in where it might hurt."

Reds have made a steady start to their campaign, winning on the opening day before recovering from back-to-back defeats with three draws in a row.

But three points would be a statement ahead of Saturday's trip to another one of the early pace-setters, Grantham Town.

One player who has impressed in recent games is loanee Jordan Holt, who arrived from Carlisle United last month.

Andrews said: "I think it's going to take time for him to adapt to senior football but he's come in and done well.

"Second half on Saturday, he got on the ball and tried to make things happen.

"I don't think he'll have any problem with the physical side of the game."
